Education & Training

I hold a doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) and a master's in Counseling Psychology (MA) from Adler University, Chicago. I've completed advanced training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy through the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis — one of the country's leading institutes for depth-oriented clinical training.

That training shapes how I work: attending carefully to patterns in emotional life, exploring how earlier relational experiences and internalized expectations continue to influence present struggles, and creating space for what's difficult to articulate.

I came to psychoanalytic work because I was drawn to the questions that don't have quick answers — why we repeat what we know isn't working, why insight alone so rarely changes things. That curiosity shapes how I work: with patience, genuine interest in the person in front of me, and a belief that the relationship itself is where the most important work happens.

Clinical Approach

Therapy with me focuses on developing a deeper understanding of yourself — not just symptom management, but addressing long-standing emotional and relational patterns at their roots.

Where it's useful, I also draw on DBT, ACT, and CBT to support practical coping and emotional regulation — so the work can be both exploratory and grounding.

This work tends to be open-ended and reflective. Sessions aren't structured around exercises or homework; instead, they create room for emotional themes to emerge over time. Topics often include recurring relationship dynamics, early experiences, and the feelings that arise in the therapy relationship itself.

My background spans inpatient, intensive outpatient, and private practice settings. This range informs an approach that can meet both acute distress and the longer arc of personal growth.

Who This Work Is Often Helpful For

This approach tends to resonate with people who:

  • Struggle with anxiety, depression, or emotional patterns that affect daily life

  • Notice recurring patterns in relationships

  • Have tried shorter-term or solution-focused therapy but want something deeper

  • Feel that insight alone hasn't been enough to shift what's stuck

  • Are curious about the unconscious aspects of their experience

  • Are dealing with the lasting effects of difficult or painful relationships
